CARPENTER FOUND DEAD.
RABBITING ON HUUBA HILLS.
RESIDENT OF ONEHUNGA.
A man named Tom Danvers Dunn, aged 60, a carpenter, of Onehunga, was found dead on the Hunua hills about 8.30 on Saturday evening. He had gone out rabbit shooting on Mr. H. Lever's property earlier in the day, and as he failed to return at the expected time Messrs. H. Lever and G. Harrington went searching for him. His rifle was lying near the body, but no sign of wounds was found.
Constable Holland and a doctor from Papakura were summoned, but owing to the rugged nature of the country they were unable to get back to Papakura until nearly 4 o'clock yesterday morning.
The inquest, which was opened yesterday before Mr. F. Snell, district coroner, was adjourned.
