N.S.W. GOVERNOR.
LANG RECALL MOVE.
Case for Presentation to Home
Government.
BRITISH COMMENT,
(United P.A.—Electric Tclegrapli-Copyriglit)
SYDNEY, March 25. The Premier of New South Wales, Mr. J. T. »Lang, has instructed the Crown Law Department to draft the necessary documents to be dispatched to the British Government asking for the recall of the State Governor, Sir Philip Game. Nothing was done in the matter to-day. The Ministry proposes to consult the Parliamentary Labour caucus on Friday before definitely deciding to give effect to the proposal to seek Sir Philip's recall. A London message states that, commenting upon the report that the New South Wales Government may ask for the recall of the Governor, Sir Philip Game, because of his refusal to assent to additional appointments of Labour members to State Legislative Council, "The Times" says: "No intervention could be more improper than advice to the King to recall the Governor because his view of his duty differs from that of his Ministers. • - t "If the New South Wales Government is dissatisfied its remedy is an appeal, not to London, but to the people of the State, when judgment will be given by the one authority whose. verdict is final. "It is surprising that Mr. Lang, as a democrat of the extreme type, does not prefer this method to an appeal to the British Government to take sides in an internal New South Wales dispute."
