SAILORS TAKE CAR.
ACCIDENT NEAR BLENHEIM.
TO PAY FINES AND DAMAGES.

BLENHEIM, Monday.
Two bluejackets from H.M.s. Diomede, who were stranded in Blenheim with no means of reaching the ship at Picton before their leave expired, commandeered a motor car and set out for Picton. At Nolan's Crossing the car capsized, pinning down the two men, who were discovered by a passing motorist.
The two men, Charles William Henry Mackie and Harold William Rawlinson, were charged in the Police Court to-day with the wrongful conversion of the car. Mackie was fined £20, in default three months' imprisonment, and was* ordered to pay £20 toward the repairs of the vehicle. Rawlinson was fined £10, in default two months' imprisonment, and was ordered to pay £20 toward the repairs.
