POWER BOAT ASSOCIATION.
PICNIC AT MOTUIHI. t OUTBOARDS RACE DOWN. The New Zealand Power Boat Association held its annual picnic on Saturday, the destination being Motuihi. At 2 p.m. quite a good fleet left the King's wharf, led by Commodore H. O. Wiles in his motor yacht Lady Margaret. At 2.30 p.m. the outboard division held a race to the picnic destination. The entries and their handicaps, which were given at the start of the race, were as follow:—Bonzo (A. Cadman, jun), 30s behind limit; Redskin (F. Pidgeon), 3m; Redstreak (Miss Bryce), 3m 10s; Chancit (.7. Riley), Sin 20s; Lady Eve (H. P. Butler), 4m 30s: Velox (W. Woollams, jun.), 7m 30s, and Little Giant (L. Augustin), 9m 355. All got awav fairly well on their times, and the result was: Lady Eve 1, Chancit 2. Redskin 3, Bonzo 4. Eve won by 20s from Chancit. which beat Redskin for second place by ss. Sports were carried out on the beech. A tug-of-war between members of ' the cruisers and the outboard divisions created great amusement, and was won by the cruisers, after a strenuous pull.
