HOSPITAL BOARDS. LEGISLATION TO MEET LOSSES ME. MORSE IN WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, Saturday. Special legislation is being prepared to provide for meeting the losses of the hospital boards in the stricken area, according to Mr. C. 0. Morse, chairman of the Hawke's Bay Hospital Board, who spent two days in Wellington this week. The proposed measures, said Mr. Morse, should be very satisfactory to all parties concerned. The boards affected were the Hawke's Bay, Wairoa, Waipawa, Waipukurau and Dannevirke Boards. While in Wellington Mr. Morse, with Mr. W. E. Barnard, M.P. for Napier, made representations to the Minister of Labour, Hon. S. G. Smith, who is-also chairxoan of the Unemployment Board, asking for an extension of the scope of disposal of the £5000 granted to the Napier Unemployment Committee for expenditure in Napier and Hastings. Further moneys to- keep the people of this district in employment were also asked for.
