DEATH ROLL IN GERMANY

COLOGNE, February 23. Thirty-one miners were killed in a fire-damp explosion in a reserve pit at Nothberg, near Eschweiler. Fourteen others were sent to hospital suffering from gas poisoning. Forty pit ponies were killed.
