TAKANINI TRIALS.
HORSES FOR TE AROHA. There was not a great deal of fast work at Takanini this morning, when the track was in good order after the rafti during the night. In the Shade (Jones) was a little better than Eaglet (Stewart), at the end a nicely run seven furlongs in 1.30 l-o. lhe first three took 38 2-5 and the nrst five 1.3 4-5.

Cjopton and Sub-editor were sent a similar journey, but were not timed. li lice (Stewart) fiad a head the -best of Iving March (Jones) at the end of a seven-furlong gallop in 1.32, the first three furlongs toeing run in 395. Fedora (Inglis) and Chief Jewel (Jones) ran five furlongs in 1.3 2-5. Fedora went exceptionally well. Refresher (Stewart) and Taurua (Jones) g ttlCe throughout furlongs in The Peut-Etre filly (Jones) and Hard Words (Bagby) sprinted three furlongs in 37 3-ss. _ Ross hi re (Walters) and Ruffles (Jennings), were not timed when covering six furlongs, 'but Rosshire galloped very impressively and was well in front at the finish. Brazanna and the Valkyrian-Podokes gelding ran three furlongs in 375. Horses For Te Aroha. J. T. STAR COMET'S GOOD DISPLAY

Some showers were experienced for training „at Te Papa this morning, and the going was easier than it has been for some time. First Lap ran nine furlongs on the course proper in 2.5. C. Goulsbro will ride her in the Hack Cup at Te Aroha. Persham beat Toujours over three furlongs in 40s. Paganelli was worked six furlongs, but the pace was not right on. He is well. T. Green will ride him in the sprint on Saturday. Hit the Deck beat Mervette over five furlongs in 1.4 3-5. Lupin Abbey and Bernera finished on terms over six'furlongs in 1.21. Mosque finished in front of Stonehenge, six furlongs, in 1.18 4-5. King Ford ran three furlongs m 375. Star Comet beat Pompeius over four hurdles, giving a good display. Cruachan and Monetize led Unoco over a similar trip, giving a pleasing display.
