MUCH BLOODSHED.

Yain Peruvian Revolt Costs

60 Lives.

40 LOYALIST TROOPS

LIMA, February 22. Peruvian Government troops on Friday suffered severely in fighting at Callao in quelling a short-lived revolt. Several civilians also were killed. The total death roll was about 60, of whom 40 were loyalists and 20 were rebels. The attempted revolt was the work of 50 adherents of the former President, Senhor Leguia, who attacked the palace at dawn. Guards repulsed them and the insurrectionists retired to a fort in the city of Callao. There they were besieged by the 7th Regiment, who captured the fort at noon. Both cities are greatly excited and troops are parading the- main streets.
