DAIRY CONTROL BOARD
NORTHERN COMPANY'S OPINION
The following resolution, questioning the value of the services rendered by the Dairy Produce Board in relation to its cost to the industry, was passed at the monthly meeting of the directors of the Kaipara Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, on February 13:—"The directors of this company are of the opinion that the value of the services rendered by the New Zealand Dairy Produce Control Board in proportion to the cost of the board to the industry should have the close scrutiny of all dairy companies. Last year the board expended the sum of £49,200, and the directors of this company consider this amount far in excess of the value of the services rendered. As the board now deals practically only with shipping, insurance and advertising, we are of the opinion that these interests of the producers could be efficiently administered by the amalgamation of the dairy, meat, fruit and honey boards, in place of, at at present, four separate boards operating for identical purposes."
