PRICES AT GISBORNE. STORES SELL BETTER. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") GISBORNE, this day. At the Gisborue sale fat sheep declined. Ewes brought 3/1 to 4/9; lambs, 5/2 to 8/9; wethers, 7/1 to 7/7; second grade ewes, 2/3 to 3/8. Store sheep: There was an entry of 17,000, including several annual station drafts, all showing effects of the drought conditions. The sale was better than anticipated, and there was a good clearance under the hammer. It was the first sale giving a genuine indication of local values. Two-tooth ewes, best, 8/6; good, 6/2 to 6/6; fair, 4/6; inferior, 4/j four-tooths, good frame condition, 8/3 to 8/6: five-year, good, 5/5 to 6/2; fair, 3/ to 3/7; six-year, fair and fairly good, 3/6; mixed, aged, four-tooth to five-year, 7/2 to 8/5; four-tooth to four years, 3/11 to 7/9; sound-mouths, good stores, 3/1; five, six and seven-year, 1/11; low mouths and condition, 1/ downwards. Lambs: Firstclass, 5/9; good, 5./; fairly good, 3/ to 4/; wethers, 5/7 to 6/3; fairly good, 5/1.
