INDECENT ASSAULT.
EX-SERVICEMAN'S OFFEXCV,. "It is a matter of regret to find a man who has borne such a good reputation behaving in this way," said Mr. Justice Herdman ill thq Supreme Court to-day to Charles Timmina. of Te Aroha, who had pleaded guilty to a charge of an indecent assault on a girl. Timmins was an ex-serviceman who had enlisted at the age of 17. He wats the father of three young children, and Mr. Singer, who appeared on his behalf, said he had been a good husband and a good father. His Honor said it was clear that the girl had gone along to the prisoner's place arid he had interfered with her. Sentence of twelve months' imprisonment with hard labour was passed.
