AN EYE ON RUSSIA.
TIMBER TRADE CONDITIONS. (British Official Wireless.) . (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, February 11. Asked in the House of Commons whether he would appoint a small committee to take the evidence of certain persons lately in Russia regarding labour, conditions in the.Russian timber trade, Mr. Arthur Henderson, Foreign Secretary, said lie feared that without the provision of any facilities oil the part of the Soviet Government no inquiry would be satisfactory or effective. Therefore nothing, would be achieved by such a communique, but lie would continue to watch the situation closely in case he found any reason to modify this view.
