While walking clown Queen Street from ." ' Karangahape Boad last' Saturday afternoon I :: was surprised at the quantity of drapery, etc.,;-? in the sun in the windows of shops." After lying at the mercy of the hot rays for a few hours many of these goods must greatly depre- ' > eiate in value, whereas a few sheets of paper ' spread over them would .be a protection. Many owners lock up on Saturdays at mid-day, leaving their goods as they were in the morning. In a poultry shop window I also some fowls .subjected to a. fierce sun without ' any shade. UNCLE JIM..
