ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.
THIS MORNING'S WORK. PREPARING FOR ROTORUA AND DARGAVILLE. i The course proper, with the poles about 20ft out from the rails, anu No. 2 grass track, were available for fast work at Ellerslie this morning. The weather was fine, and the going was excellent. Several horses with engagements at Rotorua and Dargaville were galloped, the best performances being registered by Gay Idea, Llanore and Howick. The Course Proper. Royal Survey and Roxy ran four furlongs .in 545. Roxy got the better of the start, but the pair were on terms at the finish. Roxy is improving, and shows promise. Hawthorn and Titanette sprinted three furlongs in 395, being together when the post was reached'. Operatic jumped off at the mile post and ran his first liair mile in 52 4-ss, and the full distance in 1.4G 4-5. Bonny Mumble was slightly ahead of Silent Miss at the end of four furlongs run in 52 3-ss. Sir, Val, who is improving, ran two furlongs along the back in 25 2-ss. No. 2 Grass.. Gold Money was allotted an easy task over a round, taking 1.45 for the last seven furlongs. Puriri Park ran home from the fivefurlong post in I.S, and Eager Rose completed a seven-furlong task in 1.34 4-5. Respirator. went a round in 1.52 2-5, the last seven furlongs taking 1.39 2-5. Howick and Good Idea were together, several lengths in front of Detonator, at the conclusion of six furlongs run in 1.17. Justify completed a six-furlong gallop in 1.20 1-5, the last half mile taking 525. . . - . v Gold Lily was sent once round, being timed to run the distance in 1.54 2-5. Brampton and Neil were allotted a similar task, which they covered in 1.55. Cynthia N. was timed to run the last six furlongs of her work in 1.23 3-5. Stimulant was sent over five furlongs, covering the distance in 1.7 2-5. Gay Cockade was not after time while running seven furlongs in 1.40 1-5. Desert Star and Brown Prince got to the end of six furlongs in 1.20 4-5, doing it comfortably. Gay Idea and Land Measure completed a five-furlong task in 1.4. There was little between them at the finish.
Hannibal was worked over a similar distance, which iie covered in 1.5, 4-s.** Lady Suzanne,, who is improving, ran six furlongs in 1.10 2-5. ■ ■■■:;■ Semi-Cirefc did strong work over a round, which he covered in 1.52 3-5, the last six furlongs taking 1.21 1-5. Bizarro, with General Lu t ; o bring him home over the last half mile, completed a round in' 1.48. The'final four furlongs ; took 55 l-ss. Llanore, who will contest the Dargaville Cup next week, was responsible for a brilliant effort over V round, covering the distance in 1.42, the last six furlongs taking 1.1 C. This was the best round that has been done on this track for some years. The Jumpers. New Boy (McGovernj with Absent (Craddock) to- give him a lead, was schooled over a couple of pony hurdles twice, rapping the first one hard each time. With more pace on he jumped the last fence satisfactorily. '
