COMMUNIST BEFORE COURT.
CHARGE OF INCITING - DISORDER. : IXFORMATIOX DISMISSED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHEISTCHURCH, this day. Charged that on December 10 last, at Christchurch, he had in his possession documents which incited disorder, Arthur Finch Marshall, a young Communist, again appeared in the Magistrate's Court this morning. He pleaded not guilty. In dismissing the information, the magistrate said he was not satisfied that the circular produced, calling for a one-day strike, was a document which would incite disorder within the meaning of'the War Regulations Act. Marshall is serving a sentence of six months' imprisonment in the Paparua gaol for inciting to lawlessness at meetings in .the city last month. The police said that IGO copies of a circular, and six copies of a "Red Worker" were found in the Workers' Hall headquarters of the Christchurch group of the Communist party. Counsel submitted that there . was nothing seditious in tho documents, the whole object of which was to persuade the workers to protest agairfst the .Unemployment Act being brought into operation. Marshall denied having circulated any circulars.
