THE WYNYARD PLATE. Crimestor was omitted from the list of those for whom final payment' was made in, the Wynyard Plate to be de-; cided at the Takapuna summer meeting.
A DISAPPOINTMENT, Miss Albyn disappointed at the Thames meeting. After having every show on the first day ehe wae well beaten at the finish, while on Saturday she was last to finish in a field of six. BROTHER TO CARINTHIA. Currajong has recently been doing his work at Te. Aroha under G. Jteid, who has leased him. He ran his best race for some time when he finished within a length of Loving Cup in the Hikutaia Handicap, seven furlongs, at Thames on Saturday, and on that display may win a race before long. This horse ie a fullbrother to the Grand National Hurdle winner, Carinthia.
BRED IN NEW ZEALAND. Auda, a four-year-old gelding by Lord Quex from Perplexity, won the second division of the Flying Welter at Canterbury Park, New South Wales, last Saturday. Auda was bred by Mr. J. S. McLeod, Hawke's Bay, and was formerly trained by L. Wilson at Hastings. SON OP KING LTJ. King Win jumped away well in the Turua Handicap at Thames on Saturday and was never further away than third, being beaten by a head by Hiata" at the finish. The son of King Lu ran two creditable races at the meeting and another hack event should go his way before long.
FROM A GOOD FAMILY. Abbey Dream, who finished third to Gay Idea and Smithfiekl. in, the Kopu Handicap, is likely to do much better with more racing experience. By Quiri Abbey from Mountain Dream, this three-year-old filly conies from a good family, being related to Erie, Brushwood Boy, Miss New Zealand and An an Louise, all useful performers in their day. A GOOD RECORD. During the holiday meetings in the South Island the progeny of the defunct Some Boy 11. were successful in winning eleven races —an exceptionally good record. Some Boy 11. had only a short career at the stud, but his stock have done remarkably well, particularly in the South Island. MATAMATA RACING CLUB. Nominations for the annual meeting of the Matamata Racing Club, to be held at Matamata on Saturday, February 7, close with the secretary, Mr. T. J. Underwood, Matamata, or Messrs. Blomfield and Co., Shortland Street, Auckland, at 5 p.m. next Friday.
