HEIR ABDUCTED.
NEW YEAR'S EVE CRIME,
ST, LOUIS, January 2,
Adolphus Bu&ch Ortliweiu, heir of one of the wealthiest famines in the United States, was kid* napped while being driven to the horni of his-grandfather August Busch, for a New Year's Eve dinner party, Hundreds of policemen are searching the city and countryside for the blonde lad whose father lias capitulated to the unknown kidnapper with an offer of "a generous reward and absolutely no questions asked" for information leading to the child's safe return. Roy Yowell, the family chauffeur, drove out to the Orthwein estate with Adolphus on the front seat beside him. As they slowed down for the gate the chauffeur saw a man leap for the car. A moment later he climbed along the funning-board and menaced Yowell with a revolver. He ordered the chauffeur from the car and drove away with the struggling boy. ' Chief Detective Kaiser said later that it was apparent that the abductor was familiar with the New Year's celebration plans in the Busch family, and he believed that some servant would be found to be implicated.
