BUTTER PROSPECTS.
FUTURE BRIGHTER.
FURTHER RISE EXPECTED. REMARKABLE HOME CLEARANCES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. The outlook for butter is sti'll bright, and in view of the cabled offers received from England by butter factories in the Waikato, the whole situation is considered to be more favourable than it has been ■ithis season. A further rise in London quotations would not be unexpected. _ The New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company,' Ltd., has received information that the advance for butterfat could be increased to lOd a It), Irom December 30. The forward position, as anticipated, has been stimulated by steady offers. It is thought this reflects a confidence in the outlook. ' Another point which favours. New Zealand prices is the remarkable Clearance of held stocks at Home. From. 1,000,000 to 1,250,000 boxes have been treated within seven months. Reduced prices are thought to have caused this activity, the demand being stimulated by the low figure. Recently a local offer was made of ll%d per lb for shipments up to March, and shortly after another offer of 11 %d was received from a different source. This shows a margin of increase of %d a lb. New Zealand factories are being advised from England, to follow a consigning policy, or not to dispose of outputs on the f.o.b. basis for less than 1/2. This latter figure represents an advance of 2d over the quota considered likely, as given in the "Star" of Saturday last. "The outlook certainly docs seem brighter than at a couple of months ago," said Dr. Dynes Fulton, chairman . of directors of'the New Zealand company, "but it is unwise to be over-optimistic."
