It is an absolute disgrace to those in charge to allow to continue another day tlis conditions existing at the bureau, where men are herded- like wild cattle to register. It is a common occurrence for men to drop in a faint once in the building and only the weight of numbers keeps the majority on theiv feet. Tli'e only , way to get out again recently was through a hole in the partition. I would also like to point out the stupid method adopted at the counters, where every card iu a bundle of hundreds has to 'be handled each time one card is wanted. The men should take the .» cards, or a duplicate, away with them, file through for marking or collecting for actual work, or some other method should be adopted whereby each man's card is handled onlv once.
