BABY CAR DAMAGED.
AUCKIANDERS' LUCKY ESCAPE ACCIDENT NEAR WHEKI VALLEY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. When straddling the running boards at Price's Bridge, near the foot of the Wheki Valley, yesterday morning, a baby car skidded, leaving the driver no room to The result was that the car went over a 12ft embankment, turned over twice, and came to rest upside down against one of the piles. There were four occupants of the vehicle —Misses Hirst (2), and Messrs Hunterfield and Main, all of Auckland. One of the ladies fell through the hood, and had a piece cut out of the fleshy part of a leg. , The party were picked up and brought to James' private hotel, where a medical examination revealed that they were little injured. They were able to return to Auckland by the afternoon train. The car was damaged to the extent of £100.
