SENT TO GAOL
MOTOR CYCLISTS DRUNK.

ANOTHER MAN FINED.
One motor cyclist was sent to gaol for a month and another fined £5 by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court this morning, on charges of being in'a state of intoxication while in charge of their machines. Their names were William Charles Griffiths, aged 34, and Frederick Pierre Palette, aged 29. Palette was sent to prison. Both pleaded guilty. "Palette got into difficulties in Hobson Street about 6.25 last evening, and crashed from his motor bike," Said Detective-Sergeant Kelly. taken to the hospital to have his injuries attended to, and .he .escaped-" - u,<.. Counsel said the case was not as serious as it: appeared on/the surface. Accused was going to overhaul the machine, and he was taking it home for that purpose. His mother, was leaving for England in about a fortnight's time, and she was prepared to take accused with her. r Mr. Hunt (reading from Palette's list of previous convictions): Unlawfully converting a motor cycle, and a motor car; theft; intoxicated whilein charge of a motor car and fined £20; drunk—Pm not going to pass that over. He-was ordered to refrain from riding a motor bike for tw.o years, and here he is again. Palette was sent to gaol for a month.
