DECLINE IN BIRTHS. MORE CIVIL MARRIAGES. YEAR'S FIGURES FOR AUCKLAND. .A record number of marriages by; the registrar in the Auckland district is shown in the vital statistic figures for 1930. During the' year 535, marriages were performed by the registrar, aw increase of three' on 192G, > tho. previous peak year. The following are the annual figures of marriages by the registrar since 1926:—1920, 535; 1927, 494; Kfß, 490; 1929, 468; 1930, 538.
