OPERATING NEW YEAR'S DAY.
(Received 1.30 p.m.)
LONDON, December 30;
The biggest revolutionary change in motoring in England will take place on New Year's Day, when the laws operating since 1903 will end, and a new code will operate.. The speed limit for private cars will be abolished, but the limit of 30 miles an hour for heavy vehicles, motor lorries and motor coaches will be rigidly enforced.
Applicants for road licenses in the New Year must produce, certificates showing the assistance of third party insurance, otherwise they will not be licensed. The certificate must be carried on the car.
