WOMEN AT THE WHEEL.
Once again this controversy about the lady driver has arisen, and ifc would be humorous were it not so very narrow-minded. This time the trouble seems to be because two oiifc of : the hundreds of women motorists have annoyed "Safety First." Certainly No. 1 ladies committed an offence by obstructing the traffic, but it seems a slight exaggeration to accuse the lady in the second case, or anyone, of reading the newspaper while doing 30 m.p.li. Can "Safety Firet" tell me how many of the accidents are caused by women? How many women knock down or kill pedestrians?, 'Are women ever arrested through being intoxicated while in charge of a car? One has only to read the papers for these answers. .Critics of the lady driver should be shown their appalling ignorance. In conclusion, lam prepared at my own expense to take "Safety First" for a day's run around the city and suburbs and let him see the glaring errors and dangerous driving by the majority of the lords of creation. ■ EVE.
