THE WATERFRONT ROAD.
I would like to draw attention to the notice board at the entrance to the new waterfront road to Orakei. It reads that the road is open from 7 a.m. until sunset. On several occasions now I, together with many others, have been at this entrance an hour before sunset, only to find the gates locked each time. I would like to add that if this road, which is very handy for motorists to go through to Orakei, ie closed at sunset on account of tie bridge at the far end of the road, I cannot understand why the entrance from Shore Road, where there is a bridge with two far more dangerous approaches, is never locked.
