TAKANINI TRIALS.
THIS MORNING'S WORK
SOME SMART EFFORTS,
Deepite the recent rain the tracks were in good order at Takanini this morning when there were some interesting gallops. All the faet work was carried out on the inner grass with the poles about 6ft out. Chief Joy (Jones) was just ahead of Refresher (Stewart) after running seven furlonge in 1.28 4-5, the first three taking' 36 2-56, and the first five 1.1 1-5. This was a smart effort. Tea Chat (Stewart) was a length ahead of Fedora (Jonee) at the., finish of four furlonge in 50 2-ss. In the Shade was about four lengths behind Ti- Tree over the first six furlongs of a mile, but when they straightened up for home In the Shade quickly ran up to hie companion and they finished together in 1.44 3-5. The firet three furlongs took 30 l-ss, and the five furlongs 1.4 3-5. Havaspot (Greenhalgh) was half a length ahead of Eaglet (Stewart) at the finish of six furlongs in 1.16 2-5. The first three took 37s and the five 1.3 3-6. Amnion Ra (Gray) and Chief Jewel (Jones) were companions over five furlongs in 1.3 4-5, the last four taking 51 4-ss. Amnion Ra got a couple of lengths 'the worst of the start, but was on terms at the fini&h. Clopton (Stewart) was a little bettor than Smithfield (Gray) at the end ot 6ix furlongs in 1.15 4-5. ■ Tho Chief Ruler—Peut-etre iitly (M. Stewart) and Drama (Jones) were together at the end of half a mile, run in 51 3-ss. ' , , . Columba (Jones) finished a length m front of Queen Papa (Walters),, with the Pombal—Lota gelding two lengths away, at the conclusion of three *urlonge run in 37 2-ss, Sargon was on the track, but was restricted to trotting, work.
