MISSION BAY.

I have watched the correspondence « this carefully, and I notice all the Z plie3 to the original letter on. thisjecfc are by "Residents," and it Wou Ji appear that although they have Mission Bay every day in the week, they it 60 much on Sundays that no one else .should be allowed to go there, ij,. had the pleasure of going through ft* Mission Bay district a good many time, on a Sunday, and I notice manyVesi. dents very busy about their houses, most of "which are quite nice and new. Katur ally there is a lot to be done, so why . should they worry about who goes to the ' beach? As regards dressing sheds, the cars were the only decent and convenient' places to change for bathing., The nn-* sightly",'unclean, corrugated iron "bating sheds" are not fit to enter, and could' only accommodate a very few of the thousand or eo. Anyway, I would point out that the reserve does not belonjj to the residents. It belongs to the general public, and I cannot see that"any one party should contrive to shut any ' other out. As the reserve is vested ia the Auckland City Council, it is only reasonable that all patrons of the beach should be catered for to best advantage and I would suggest first that all the , grass be kept well cut—no chance •of spoiled stockings then; second, that a strip, full length of the beach, Vhere the cars have previously been parked behind * the wheel tracks parallel to the beach' be cleared of grass, and that sand be spread, sufficient to park, say, two lines of cars. This would give a set place ' for the motorists, who would be only too willing to abide by regulations,. ; ia. f. Davis.
