TRAIN DERAILED.

PASSENGER CAR DRAGGED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHB.ISTCHURCH, Monday. The locomotive and one carriage of tha train from Christchurch to Waikari were derailed at Chaney's Corner. Belfast, at 5.30 p.m. to-day. As the train passed over the crossing the engine left the rails, presumably owing to the presence on the metals of stones thrown by passing motor traffic. The engine dragged the first passenger carriage with it and ploughed along in the shingle ballast for 50yds before the wheels became firmly embedded The locomotive remained upright and neither the driver nor fireman was hurt.
