TARIFF CHANGES.
MOTOR CARS FROM CANADA. NEW DUTY WOW PAYABLE. FIRST SHIPMENT ON MONDAY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A shipment of motor cars from Canada to be landed at Wellington on Monday from the Canadian Highlander will be the iirst shipment received under the new duty. As an indication of what the tariff means, the Customs duty cheque for one brand of car alone amounts to over £9000, being just double the amount that would have been payable under the old tariil'.
