CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.

AUCKLAND GUN CLUB,

The Auckland Gun Club held a claybird Shoot on Wednesday. Conditions were bad and there was only a fair attendance. The first ten bird match, was won outright by E. J. Schofleld (14yds), with the possible. F. Kay-Stratton (14yds), and J. Milne (11yds), divided second and third money with nine. ' The cnief match for Mr. L. F. Hamsay's trophy resulted in' a tie between the donor, Mr. Ramsay (16yds), and L. Peterson (14yds), both shooting the possible of' 15. Mr. Ramsay was not competing for the trophy, which went to Mr. Peterson. • A ten bird match was divided by A. E. Macredie (16yds), and I. Lomas (11yds), with the possible. The final match, all off 15yds, was divided by L. F. Ramsay and L. Peterson. The club will send a team to compete for the Reid Cup at. Morrinsville next Saturday. The next shoot will be held on Saturday week when Mr. E. P. Mitchelson's trophies Will be competed for.

TE AROHA GUN CLUB

A clay bird shoot was held by the Te Arolia Gun Club yesterday. A strong southerly wind made good shooting impossible. Tlie results were as follow :— No. 1 Sweepstake, 7 birds.—I 3 . Harvey (14yds). M. Slack (13yds) «nd 11. Johnson (13yds). tied with the "possible and divided the stake. No. 2' Grimcrack Stakes, 7 Johnson and G Slack tied with six birds.
