WAIMAUKU CLUB.

The Wainiaulni Tennis Club held its anuunl mooting in the local hair on Monday night. The balance sheet' showed a credit of £8. The following officers wore elected for the coming tonson : —President, Mr. C. Watts; vice-presidents, Messrs. L. C. Foster and C. Mactarquhar; ladies' committee. Mesdaines C. Nairn, L. C. Foster, Misses Muriel Wintour, Iflora Macfarquhar, Marjoric Lennox, and Mavis Armitage; men's committee, Messrs. Kiiigf doin, Andrews, K. O'Connor, L. Webb, IX Lennox, and C. Xairn; secretary, J. Julinston.

TURUA CLUB.

At the annual meeting of the Turua Lawn Tennis Club on Monday evening , , Mr. A. H. KOgcrs presiding , , the committee, reported a membership of 60. Last season the club's A team won the Haurakl Plains championship (Laidlaw Cup), and the B team won the competition in its section. The A {earn had been narrowly defeated by tho Hikutaia team for the Howell Williams Memorial Shield. At the Hauraki Plains championship tournament members who did well were Miss Dixon, who reached the semi-final of the ladies' singles, Dr.' Miller Who reached the final in the men's singles and the semi-finals in the men's doubles And combined doubles (with Miss Duffy), and Robinson, who pot to the semi-final in the men's singles. The club's ladder competitions were well contested, thus helping to improve considerably the standard of play. An innovation in the form of a junior ladder proved most successful, the lads especially showing themselves particularly keen in challenging, and thus in a marked degree improving their play generally. Tho club's handicap tournament, again attracted good entries. The winner Of the gentlemen's event was Mr. C. Scott (the runner-up being Mr. A. McConnell), and of the Indies' event Mrs. K. Cosson (the runner-up being Mrs. C. Scott). In order to encourage further the junior players a special'handicap tournament was held—the winner of this was Master K. Hamilton, with Master C. Hamilton runnerup. Tho profit on tho year's working was £60, and the bank overdraft had been reduced to £57. Tho following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. S. S. Murray; president, Mr. A. H. Rogers; committee, Miss M. Mule.s, Mesdames Miller and Harvey, Messrs. T. K. Miller (secretary), F. C. Robinson (treasurer), R. Muller, R. Madgwick, A. McConnell and C. Scott. It was decided to open the season on Labour Day.
