Considerable excitement was created in Canberra recently when it became known that a woman candidate, intended contesting one of the three seats for the Advisory Council, which lias been established to assist ill the government of the capital. The candidate, who came first in a list of 13, was Mrs. Gertrude Henderson, wife ofS.the Director of External Affairs. She herself was director of the. education department of the Y.W.C.A. in Paris. ... _
