The. Dominion .Road branch of the League of Mothers held their usual monthly meeting in the Dominion Road Methodist Social Hall. To augment the funds ? of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Sunday School and Bible class, a grand entertainment, was presented in, the church .hall last evening. There was a large and appreciative audience. The programme comprised two plays, "Cinderella," produced by Miss -Ella -Matthews, with .dances arranged by Miss M. Bain, ard played by the girls of the Sunday school and junior Bible class,, and "The Cricket Match," produced by jilr.-: W. Caldwell, and played- by the Bible class boys. The charm of the. fairy story Cinderella never dies, and the whole audience was captivated at last evening's .performance. The scenes were all very attractive, and the early Victorian • frocks, in their soft colours, and the suits of the courtiers, with their satins• anil , laces, were: a delight to the eye. McGowan, Harry Smith, and Laurie Irwin. During the evening music was supplied by the members of the Aeolian Orchestra, under the leadership of Mr. Gerald T. Lee, which played the overture '"La Couronne d'Or" (Hermann) and a march '"The. Vanquished Army" (Alford). The, songs, "Arise, 0 Sun" and "Waiata Poi" by Mrs. N. R. Alexander, and '"'The Admiral's Broom," by Eric Paton, arid a violin solo, "Hej Haj" (Drdla), by Mr. Neville Walker . were very wqll received. Miss ■Winifred Cooke acted as accompanist.
