.YOUNG MAN SENTENCED.

Eighteen months' reformative, Retention was the sentence passed by Mr; Justice Herdman in 'the Supreme Court to-day upon Albert Ellery, aged 25, a plumber, wlio had pleaded guilty at Te Puke to charges of breaking and entering and theft by night. -A report by the probation officer of Te Puke was most unsatisfactory, said his Honor. It showed that' Ellery had been known to the police there for two years and he had evidently given trouble in the district.
