'LONDON, September 15. v The "News Chronicle," : on the high-? est authority, denies 'the rumours that are being circulated in America to, the effect that Britain is making representations to Washington with, a vie>v to reducing the 'payments of the American war debt. The \>aper points out that Britain thus far" lias paid the United States £312.400,000, of which only £84,230,000 was • repaid capital. That leaves £909,452,000 still outstanding.
