FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. WEEK OPENS QUIETLY. The local Stock Exchange made a very . quiet opening at tlie first call this morning. Only one sale_. was recorded, and bidding generally was very tame, being mainly confined to a re-calling of week-end quotations. On announcement of an 8 per cent dividend buyers for Innes Breweries advanced their offers for the preferential issue to £1 2/. Whittome, Stevenson's were offered a fraction lower at £1 17/. The Noon Call. Bidding was a little freer at the noon call, but many usually popular lines were passed without buyers making an offer. Any change in Banks was towards further weakness. Thus Australasias were offered at £11 7/6 and New Zealands at £2 16/. More of New South Wales could be had at the price of the morning sale, namely, £31 15/. New. Zealand Breweries were offered at £2 9/, and Waihis a shade easier at 15/1. A buyer for Westport Coals offered £1 9/. In Govt, stocks £100 10/ is still asked for 4/£'s. SALES COMPLETED. Last Sale.
