YGUNG FARMER KILLED.

QUEEN STREET ACCIDENT. RETURNED SOLDIER'S EXD. Injuries received by Mr. Nelson Gordon Morrison, when lie was knocked down by a . Irani , in Queen Street yesterday, resulted in his death, at the Auckland Hospital at 10 o'clock iliis morning. \ The accident occurred near the- intersection of Queen and Victoria Streets about, 5 p.m. When Mr. Morrison was crossing Queen Street he was struck' by a tani going down Queen Steet, and thown heavily, sustaining a fareture of the skull. ' , Dr. Coldicutt rendered first aid, and injured ' mart was afterwards conveyed to the -hospital in an unconscious condition by the St. John ambulance. An inquest was opened this afternoon by Mr. F. K. Hpit, S.M., coroner; The inquest was adjourned sine die, after evidence of identification had been taken.

The late Mr. Morrison was a farmer, and a single man, aged 34. He recently came from Nelson. He liad been staying with his sister, Mrs. Butler, of 2, Pine Street, Kemuera.
