EEFRESHMEN T AT PAEKAKARiKI
, Agitation to have the Limited express stop at Te Awainutu and Te 3\uiti on the up and down run between Auckland and Wellington has been going on for soine time. In the past all requests have been refused. Within the past few days, however, the .Railway. Department has been considering the matter, and it has been decided to accede to the request.
The decision has been niade .that the .stops will be inaugurated when the liew railway ' station is. opened and the expresses travel over' the Westfield deviation. ' •
- In" addition to Te Awamutu and Te Kuiti, the Limited express will also make a stop at Paekakaiiki on the down run to Wellington, so as to enable passengers to have refreshments. at that station. The time of her arrival at Palmerston, it. has been decided, has been too early for. passengers to - have breakfast. These alterations in stopping • places necessitates an alteration in the timetable to a certain extent, and the train running department of the railways is at present engaged in computing a new time-table.
