CONCRETE PENETRATION.

INSPECTION BY A.A.A. OFFICIALS.

The president of the Auckland Automobile Association, Mr. A. Grayson, was accompanied by members of the executive council of the association yesterday, when an inspection of the concrete penetration being carried out on the Albany Pvoad was made. t ■

- Mr. Grayson stated that his executive was of tile opinion that this method of concrete penetration should provide a tirst-class road surface. There was no doubt in the committee's opinion that the new experimental stretch was a decided improvement on the section previously laid over twelve months ago. As far as the committee could see, the penetration was absolutely effective, and individual members were very much impressed. Mr. Grayson further remarked that an examination of the previous short stretch of concrete, which had been under test for twelve months, proved satisfactory, especially considering the method adopted when it was laid. The new stretch of concrete under construction is being laid under very much improved methods.. The association will watch with great interest the effect of road traffic when this length of concrete is open for general use.
