RETURNS FOR JULY.
EXCESS OF EXPORTS
TRADE BALANCE IMPROVED

Figures for the overseas trade of New Zealand for the month of July, 1930, show exports valued at £3,384,742 sterling, and imports valued at £3,014,713 sterling. lor the period of seven months ended July, 1930, experts were valued at £33,105,433 sterling, and imports at £25,552.256 sterling. The details for the month compared with July of last year are as follow:— 1930. 1029. Exports £3.384,742 £2,719,835 Imports 3,014,713 4,409,032 T*rom the foregoing it will be seen that the Domini.)/* improved its trade balance substantially last month as compared with July of last year when imports exceeded exports by £1,739,517. Last month's exports were in excess of imports by £370,029, showing a change over amounting to approximately £2/100.000. Seven Months' Returns. Although the trade balance on overseas business is not nearly as favourable as it was during the two preceding years of excessive primary production coupled with high prices, it would appear that the adverse movement has been definitely checked.
