TWO PLAYS PRESENTED
ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY.
Two Karrie I'laj's, " The °' d Shows Her Medals," and "A Welli ori Voice" were presented in Hall concert chamber last evening by the St ;■ ESf the excited the greater interest. _ The Little Theatre Society had prerioußly pi - HPTited the drama m Auckland, and it has been the subject of a talking picture The production last evening, however was probably the best that has been given in Auckland, as the cast, largely the original Little Theatre cast, has reaped the benefit of prevrous per.f °Mr al j! D. Swan again takes the part of the soldier returning home on leave to find that an old lady lias been proudly adopting him as her son. Mr. Swan brings into his work a brogue and brawness born of mingled wit and pathos. Mrs. Downey is played again by Miss Peggy Hovey, and other roles are filled by Miss Maisie Carte-Lloyd, Miss Constance Clarke, Miss Ethel Rae and Mr. ! Harold Sayers. . . ~ "A Well-remembered Voice is a spirit play, new to Auckland. It is a simple story about a bereaved father who cannot believe in his wife's faith in the immortality of the spirit. His son's voice, however, comes to him out of the void and converges with him. Mr. Gordon Spence acts convincingly as the father. Miss Betty Budge takes the part of the mother, and others in the cast are Miss Lilian Lugton, Mr. D. McCrone and Mr. W. S. Lange.
