In the Newport tennis tournament semi-finals Hunter defaults to Tilden, having injured an arm on Thursday. Allison defeated Lott, 2 —6, 6—-3, 7—5, 6—3. At Forest Hills on Friday in the semi-finals of the women's national tennis singles Mrs. Harper defeated Baroness Levi, 6—2, 6—3; Miss Nuthall defeated Miss Morrill, 6—B, 6—4, (i—2.
