WATERFRONT ROAD.
GALA DAY TO BE AREANGED.
MEETING AT ST. HELIER'S,
A decision to hold a gala day to mark the completion of the Waterfront Road was made at a meeting last evening at St. Helier's, when there was a representative attendance of Tamaki, St. Helier's and Kohimarama residents. Mr. G. Hogan presided. It was decided to set up a committee to make necessary arrangements for the function, when the road is completed for the full length from the city to St. Helier's. Several speakers expressed satisfaction at the recent announcement by ■ the Deputy-Mayor that the City Council intended to link the present gap between Mission Bay and Kohimarama as early as possible. Tentative plans-of the proposed gel a are to be submitted to the Auckland City Council, who will be invited to cooperate in marking the occasion.
