CARNERA CALLED UP.

AS A FRENCH SOLDIER,

PARIS, August 4.

Primo Camera, the Italian-born boxer, who took out French naturalisation papers before he began his ring career, was declared "fit for military service" by the Army Board of Appeal of St. Germain-en-Laye.

He was registered as "absent from France." If the boxer fails to perform his military service—due to begin in November —he will be classified as a deserter, liable to arrest on re-entering France.

Camera took out his naturalisation papers when he was working as a bricklayer in France, and the French Government were threatening to send imported workmen .back to their own countries as industry was not so prospects as now.
