RAILWAY BALL.

The annual ball of the stuff of the New Zealand Railways, at Rotorua, held at the' Majestic ballroom on Wednesday evening, proved an enjoyable function. The decorative scheme was carried out with green, gold and red streamers, Chinese lanterns, ferns and balloons. A miniature engine and railway station was cleverly arranged on the dais. Extras were played by Miss Ellis. The same decorative scheme was carried out in the supper room. The supper tables were arranged with crystal vases of golden daffodils and jonquils and red signal lamps, which were kept working automatically. Fancy paper hats were worn by all the guests.' The committee was Messrs. Donaldson, Louden, L. Woods, D. Wright, W. McLeod, H. Auld, H. Munro, J..Casey, H. Wilkinson, 11. Toun, G. Wright, Kennedy, Scott, Street, Williamson and Mr. Cox, secretary. The M.C.'s were Mr. Phillips and Mr. E. Cooper, who were all untiring in their efforts to make the evening a success. The two Monte Carlo dances were won by Mrs. Knowles and Mr. Dalbeth, Miss Ironmonger and Mr. Clark. Among the many present were: Mrs. Cooper, beige crepe de chine; Miss B.
