WEDDINGS OF THE DAY.

DENIZE—REDDY. A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Coleman's Church, Coromandcl, recently when Ruby Agnes, fourth daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. W. Reddy, was married to Leonard Claude, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Denize, of Tiki Road, Coromandcl. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, prettily dressed in a frock_ of cream silk georgette, with a slim-fitting long bodice trimmed with two narrow rows of silver working and a two-tiered fully flared skirt dipping at the rear. Her veil was arranged with sprays of orange blossoms, and formed a train, while she carried a bouquet of roses and asparagus fern. She was accompanied by two bridesmaids, Miss Alma Harold, niece of the bride, and Miss Edna Denize, sister of the bridegroom, both being dressed in apple green and lemon frocks respectively. Their long-fitting taffeta bodices were attached to tiny net frilled skirts, which dipped at the back. They wore felt hats to tone and carried posies of flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Ray Denize as best man, and Mr. Alva Reddy as groomsman. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Father O'Meara, and Miss 0. Davies presided at the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Star and Garter Hotel, where Mrs. Harold, sister" of the bride, received her guests a frock of navy wool crepe de chine, with a fox fur and a navy hat. Mrs. Denize, mother of the bridegroom, wore a costume of dove grey, with a blue hat and fox fur. The dining room was prettily decorated for the occasion with silver and white streamers and flowers, very tastefully arranged.

BATTERSBY—FIRTH. The wedding service was celebrated at St. Alban's Church on Wednesday evening of Nancy Beatrice, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Firth, of Taumata Road, Mount Albert, and granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. P. H. Blackmore, of Coromandel, to Mr. W. R. Battersby, of Kingsland. The service was fully choral, the bride and her attendants being led up the aisle by the officiating clergyman, the Rev. X Greenwood, and the choir, which was augmented by the choir of St. Chad's Church. Mr. Harold Wharton was 1 the organist.- The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ankle length gown of satin beautc with tight-fitting sleeves and a beautiful veil of Honiym lace. She carried an ivory prayer book. The two bridesmaids, Miss May Langhorn (Waipu) and Miss Myrtle Elliot, wore frocks of eau do nil georgette fashioned alike with uneven hemlines and silver headdresses and carried bouquets to tone. The little train bearer, Joan Gisby, was in primrose georgette and carried a basket of rose petals. Mr. J. Battersby supported his brother as best man and the bride's brother, Mr. K. Firth, was "roomsman. The ushers at the church were Mr. J. Kiff and Mr. Wyvern Wariu. A reception was afterwards held at the Carlton ' Hall, when about 150 guests were present. The bride's mother received her guests in.a frock of navy georgette with hat and wrap to tone, and the bridegroom's mother wore navy and fawn georgette. Among the guests were:—Mrs. B. Firth, Mr. and Mrs,. JR. Firth (Wellington), Mr. and Mrs. J. Firth (Wellington), Mrs. Osborne, Mr. and Mrs. J. Battersby, senr., Mr. -and Mrs. G. Battersby, Mr', and Mrs. T. Battersby, Mrs. Totman, Mr. and Mrs. Elliot. Mr. Langhorn, of Waipu, 'was toastmaster and Mr; Carter, late of Coromandel, spoke on behalf of absent relatives of the bride.

PATTERSON—SHALFOON. The marriage took place at St. Mary's Cliurch, Opotiki, on Monday morning of Hinde Sadie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Shalfoon, of Opotiki, to Raymond Washington Patterson, of Auckland. The Rev. Father Smiers conducted the ceremony. The bride, who carried a shower bouquet, was attired in ivory chiffon, the skirt being composed of dainty frills. The net and lace veil was swathed over the head and fell to form a long train. Clusters of orange blossom were placed at the ears. Miss Mary Shalfoon was bridesmaid. Mr. B. Culpan (Auckland) was best man. The bridegroom's mother wore black marir ette silk, with a black hat to match.

CADDY—BURGESS. The marriage of Mies Eileen 'Burgess, second daughter of Mrs. Lewis, of Crummer Road, Grey Lynn, to Edward Barnett Caddy, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Caddy, of Grey Lynn, was celebrated at St. David's Church on Saturday afternoon. The bride, who was given away by Mr. Lewis, wore a graceful gown of white satin beaute, with diamante girdle, and gossamer veiling, with coronet of orange blossoms, and a white satin horse shoe was presented to the bride as she left the church. The bridesmaid was Miss Glen Burgees, who wore a dainty frock of Nile green corded taffeta, with georgette frills and large crinoline picture hat. Mr. S. Prentice was best man. A reception was held in the evening at the Gaiety Hall, .Surrey Crescent. Mrs. Lewis, the bride's mother, received, wearing navy blue eatin beaute, with beige felt hat. Mrs. Caddy, the. bridegroom's mother, wore a frock of navy satin, with beige georgette trimming and navy hat.

LEIGH—McCREADY. A pretty wedding, was celebrated on Wednesday last in the Presbyterian Church, Otorohanga, when Miss Nora McCready was married to Mr. Bedford Leonard Leigh, by the Rev. W. Butterworth, of Te Awamutu. The church was prettily decorated for the occasion, and as the wedding party entered the church appropriate wedding music was played by Mrs. Rowe. The bride was given away by 'her brother, Mr. Tom McCready, and wore a dress of white georgette over satin, trimmed with silver lace,°with a veil of tulle which fell to form a train. Her bouquet was composed of white azaleas, jonquils, asparagus and maidenhair fern, with satin streamers. The train-bearer was the bride's nieve, little Adelaide Hunter, who wore an early Victorian dress of blue net, and carried a basket of sweet peas and maidenhair fern. She wore a poke bonnet to match. The bridesmaids were Miss Betty Thomson and Mies Ehoda Glover. The bride's mother wore black crepe de chine, and a fawn hat, and carried a bouquet of violets and cyclamen At Uhe wedding breakfast held in the Town Hall annexe, 120 guests assembled.
