LONDON, August 3.
The building of the Cunard Steam Ship Company's projected express liner on the Clyde at an estimated cost of £6,000,000 will be assisted by the Government to the extent of the- Board of Trade's undertaking at a premium that portion of the insurance which the market cannot accommodate in the ordinary, manner, owing to the vessel's exceptional dimensions. The Government will also assist in the insurance of the sister ship which the Cunard Company intends to build. They will be the largest and fastest liners in the world, with a tonnage of 75,000, and a speed exceeding 30 knots. They will be 1000 feet long, And have accommodation for more than 4000 passengers. It is expected that they will regain the- Atlantic blue riband for Britain.
