FOOTBALL CASUALTIES.
'MANY F-LAYERS INJURED. Several football players were injured on Saturday afternoon. A severe wound on the lower lip was recivcU by AY. Phillips, of 295, Queen Street, Onehunga, while playing in < l League match at Point Chevalier. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital, where several stitches were inserted in the wound. Head injuries, which necessitated his being removed from the field on a stretcher, were suffered by 0. Davis, a Richmond League player,'in the match ngainst Marist Old 'Boys at C'arlaw Park. After receiving attention oii the ground he was able to go home. Littlejohn, '"aged 21, of 21, Vincent Avenue, Remuera, received concussion while playing in a match at the Domain. His, condition i> satisfactory. H. McMillan," of 20, Newell Street, Point Chevalier, was playing at Point Ch'.valier when h ( > had one arm broken. John Preston, of 02, Cook Sired. City, fell and broke his right collar-bone when he was playing fur Kiugsland in a League match at Dcvonport.
