WELCOMING THE BRITISH TEAM.

I sincerely endorse all your correspondent says about welcoming the British team. Let us, as Aucklanders and Britons, welcome to our city some of our own kith and kin by giving them a few good British cheers. His suggestion of community singing by the crowd, would not only help to pass the time hut would serve a double purpose, as it would also help to distribute the "cheer germ" so badly needed at present. A red rose would be an excellent badge to wear. B. BRITISH. I can assure :< A Briton" that gathering together is quite unnecessary, as whether thev are together or scattered to the four points of Eden Park the "Homies" will make themselves heard. I am quite in accord with the singing suggestion, providing, of course, the gong is not "God Defend New Zealand." N.Z.
