PRINCE OF WALES TO FLORENT.
DEAD HEAT IN ROYAL HANDICAP.
DENVER CITY WINS SUBURBAN.
TRUSTWORTHY SCORES IN MANUKAU.
On a track which was very heavy as a result of many hours rain, the Auckland Trotting Club to-day brought to a close the winter meeting, which opened at Alexandra Park on Saturday. The club has been very unfortunate in connection with all its meetings held during the winter, and the present fixture, despite the fact that the events were contested by good class horses, will very likely result in a substantial loss. When racing opened to-day the attendance was small. In the Manukau Handicap Trustworthy was first home from Great Parrish and Great Evllin. There was a dead-heat between Blue and Gold and Nelson Girl in the Royal Handicap, Direct Action being third. Trustworthy ran another good race in the Suburban Handicap, being runner-up to Denver City. Gold Treasure was third. , Florent was victorious in the chief event, the minor places being filled by Jewel Pointer and Linkman.
